Date: A six-week course from Tuesday 3rd October to Tuesday 14th November, with a break for half term on Tuesday 24th October
Time: 6.30pm – 8.pm
Location: Pedlars Cafe, 128 Talbot Road, London, W11 1JA
This ISN’T a course about how to write a brilliant novel. Because it’s impossible to teach that.
It’s a guide to what skills you need to write a novel at a basic level.
No one can explain during a few evenings all the aspects of novel writing – but Tim Lott will lay out the territory for you. If you want to look closer, there will be an opportunity to do so after the course is completed through Tim’s individual mentoring, which he offers separately.
The emphasis in this course is on how to get some grasp of what you’re up against – and to make it clear that although talent cannot be taught, story techniques and principles do exist and are very powerful. Learn them well, and you will have the basic tools to write a novel. Just add talent, plus the sum total of your life and wisdom.
Week One – Introduction
