Join illustrator Alice Stevenson for an evening of sketching in Regent’s Park.
In this evening workshop, we will sit and enjoy the evening light and let one of London’s prettiest parks inspire our drawings. You will learn and explore different ways to look at and reinterpret your environment in your sketchbooks through a series of mark making and observational drawing exercises. This is the perfect evening for both beginners and more experienced artists looking for new ways to be inspired by the city and its beautiful green spaces.
These sessions are inspired by Alice’s new book Ways to See Great Britain, published by September Publishing. Driven by curiosity, restlessness and a desire to understand her own country better, Alice spent two years exploring and painting Great Britain. It is an encouragement to explore and, in true Idler spirit, a testament to the joys of slow travel.
Students will need to bring:
· An A4 or A3 Sketchbook
· A set of coloured pencils
· A set of drawing pencils
· A pritt stick
· Something to sit on
· A drink and/or snack of your choice
