Our ever-popular six week handwriting course with top calligrapher Cherrell Avery
Dates: A 6 week course from Wednesday 20 April – Wednesday 8 June 2016, with weeks off on Wednesday 11 and Wednesday 18 May for a study break.
Time: Choice of time slots, 6 – 7:30pm OR 7:45 – 9:15pm
Course description: Have you ever felt that your handwriting needed improving? Whether you would like to be able to write beautifully, more legibly or neater at speed, this practical course will give you the tools you need to begin the process.
Through a series of individual and group exercises, you will first discover which is the best pen for you and then learn how to analyse and improve your writing posture, letter formation, joins and fluency.
There will be plenty of guided practice and time given to absorbing and reinforcing your new skills, with the aim of developing a unique handwriting style to be proud of.
Please note there is a two week break between sessions five and six of the course, as results have shown that it is advantageous to give participants extra time to internalise and help the new skills to be retained. During the final session Cherrell will look at any issues raised during this time practising at home and explore the application of the transformed style to every day tasks.
Who the course is suitable for: this course is suitable for all adults who would like to improve their handwriting or learn a new hand. It is not suitable for children.
