British actor Sir Timothy Ackroyd teaches the old-fashioned skills of elocution.

Times: 2pm – 5pm

This course is suitable for both international professionals who feel the need to be better understood in the workplace and wish to reduce their accent, and those wishing to improve their public speaking through increased confidence, stamina and clearer articulation.

Sir Timothy will demonstrate and teach exercises used by professional actors. All pupils will improve their spoken clarity, accuracy and confidence.

Sir Timothy will help you to build the strength and agility of your articulators. You will practice the difference between short, long and dipthong vowel sounds, and individual consonant production. You will gain more breath control, greater projection and confidence whilst speaking & reading.

Some of the subjects students will work on are:

Clarity – using techniques needed to achieve clear speech

Accuracy – understanding grammatical English

Strength – use of articulation and sound production

Confidence – with more accuracy and control, spoken confidence naturally improves

The aim of elocution is clear, accurate speech and correct articulation. This can mean different goals for different speakers so Sir Timothy’s classes are designed to meet your needs. Many speakers require just a little tweaking to correct certain errors they make, while others require a lot of practice to achieve their aims.

In the first 60-minute segment Sir Timothy will analyse your speech and show you the areas in which you can improve.

Please email if you have any questions.
