Gin & Crochet with Ros Badger, make a daisy chain.

This class is aimed at complete beginners and will teach you the basics of this amazing craft. By the end of the 2.5hr class you will have made your very own ‘Daisy chain’ as illustrated in Ros’ book ‘Hook Yarn & Crochet’.

The evening will begin with a gin cocktail, a crochet hook and a ball of cotton yarn.

You will be shown how make a chain stitch, the foundation for all crochet projects. Once the hook is mastered you will find yourself quickly progressing on to some simple stitches & techniques including: how to join a chain circle, slip stitch , double crochet and treble. Before you know it you will have completed your first daisy.

All students will be provided with printed pattern handouts and taught how to read them, so will be able to continue and extend their dairy chains at home.

No prior experience is required, and all the materials; crochet hook, yarn and pattern sheets will be provided for students and is included in the price.

About the Tutor

Ros Badgers career as a knitwear designer started over 30 years ago when she finished her textile degree at Chelsea School of art.
She has designed for numerous companies from Betty Jackson to Marks and Spencer. She has made bespoke hats for U2’s The Edge, did a stint as knitting expert on C4’s Big Breakfast TV, and is an occasional stylist for magazines and newspapers, including the Telegraph and The Sunday Times.
Ros has written a number of successful knitting and craft books including: Homemade; Gorgeous things to make with love, co-authored with her close friend Elspeth Thompson (1962-2010), Hook Yarn and Crochet(Quadrille Publishing) and Simple Knitting (Mitchell Beazley).
