Pontypridd

Pontypridd is in the South Wales vallies. This is an exciting arena of, as yet, untapped crap, but I would have to cite Pontypridd as the apotheosis of crappityness.

It has a 60s concrete shopping centre called the Taff Vale Centre. There are approximately 3 shops still open in this crumbling edifice. All of these are crap. The Taff Vale Centre is topped with an abandoned towerblock and ringed with pound shops and charity shops. The other building dominating the town centre is a concrete bingo hall.

All that it has that is remotely decent is Ynsangharad Park – which is like your bog standard Victorian park in any decent town. Oh and the Llanover Arms isn’t bad.
