On Monday 2 October a motley, raggle-taggle and very merry crew met at the statue of John Wilkes in New Fetter Lane for a short meander through Holborn to Clerkenwell Green. It was a Liberty March to celebrate the publication of Idler Ed Tom’s new book, How To Be Free. Tom recited Blake’s poem “London” through the megaphone while Michael Tyack, Will and Victor Hugo of Circulus rocked the medieval beats on the lute, pipe and drum. At the Old Sessions House we drank Fuller’s London Pride, drank red wine, ate ham and bread and made merry. So merry that we were asked to keep the noise down by the masons who were holding a big dinner in the room across the hall.

"The answer to how to live is to stop thinking about it. And just to live. But you're doing that anyway. However you intellectualise it, you still just live."
