Idler editor-at-large Matthew De Abaitua will be reading from his debut novel The Red Men (Snowbooks) at Broadway Bookshop, Hackney. Also appearing are Tom McCarthy, whose novel Remainder has been one of the books of the year and Russell Celyn Jones, a renowned (and award-winning) novelist and journalist. He’s also Professor of creative writing at Birkbeck University. So as well as reading from his work, he’ll also talk a bit about how creative writing degrees can help aspiring novelists hone their craft and forge relationships with editors, agents and publishers.
