Join Idler Academy Head of Latin Susanna Hislop for an introduction to the joys of the Latin language. In only eight weeks, you will learn all the essentials of Latin grammar, and be able to translate, as well as to write – and even speak – in Latin. Learning Latin revolutionises your understanding of any language, exercises your brain better than Sudoku, and is good for your soul too.
Susanna Hislop is a performer and writer living in London. She has a passion for grammar, and a hatred of poorly taught Latin. She has been a tutor to individual students, teaching Latin, English and History from primary school to degree level, and has also taught larger classes both in schools and community centres. Until recently, she was a teacher for The Latin Programme, a charity which aims to improve literacy in state primary schools via Latin. Susanna is Artistic Director of the theatre company Slip of Steel and a Saturday girl at Lutyens & Rubinstein bookshop, and is currently writing a book about Virginia Woolf’s Mrs Dalloway.
