The Idler Academy

We are in constant need of volunteers to tidy the garden, serve coffee and cake, set up events, go flyering, clean the kitchen, post Tweets, tidy books, welcome authors at events, stuff envelopes, serve wine in the evenings, bicycle to the market to buy bread, manage our Wi-Fi and all the million other little jobs which need doing in an enterprise of this sort. You will learn a huge amount about event management, second hand bookselling, the art of the barista, café work, publishing work, picture hanging, retailing, marketing events, Aristotle and idling theory, but there will also be a lot of very menial work to do, like cleaning the loo and sweeping the floor.
